Stephanus Muller is Professor of Music and Director of Africa Open, Institute for Music, Research and Innovation (AOI) (https://aoinstitute.ac.za/), which functions autonomously from the Music Department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He has worked and published on South African composers, and at AOI he supervises postgraduate students working on academic topics, performance-based studies and composition.
