2.1 Allocation criteria
Students in SU housing Final allocation is made after applications have closed, and in collaboration with the residences and SU student housing. Please note that the booms at the residences will be left open and the parking available in the beginning of the year if agreed upon by the affected residence. 
Private students Criteria taken into consideration are previous years’ parking allocation, distance from student's accommodation/residence to campus, seniority, and students with disabilities. The student parking areas will be open and available in the beginning of the year. 
 
Student applications
2.2 Students in SU residences and other SU housing
NB: Residences like Lobelia, Concordia, Huis MacDonald and Goldfields must also apply.
Process: 2.2.1 Click here to apply electronically AFTER your registration for the academic year has been completed electronically.
  2.2.2 You will receive an e-mail confirming that your application has been submitted successfully.
  2.2.3 Your application will be considered according to availability of parking.

The parking discs for residences will be sent to the respective HK members who are responsible for parking as soon as it is ready. Discs for students in other SU housing can be collected from the offices of Transport Services (48 Banhoek Street, Stellenbosch) and the Vehicle Park (Tygerberg). If allocations are processed later in the year, discs may be collected at the office of the parking coordinator at your campus.

  2.2.5 Please note: In case of cancellation of parking, the amount owed will be a pro rata amount determined by the time elapsed form the date of allocation to the date on which the cancellation was received by the parking coordinator (in month segments).

2.3 Private students 
NB: Receive parking in the general parking areas.
Process: 2.3.1 Apply electronically AFTER your academic application has been submitted electronically.
  2.3.2 You will receive an e-mail confirming that your application has been submitted successfully.
  2.3.3 If you are allocated parking, it will be confirmed in an e-mail to you. Periphery discs will be sent via email. Please print it on white paper and display it on your vehicle's windscreen. If you have received parking on Central Campus, collect your disc at Transport Services, 48 Banhoek Street, Stellenbosch at the beginning of March.

2.4 Tygerberg: PhD and post-doctoral students
Process: 2.4.1 Follow the prescribed application procedure for students as in 2.2 above.

Allocation process 2.4.3 The application will only be considered if parking is available in P5.
  2.4.4 If the request (in 2.3.2 above) for access to P5 is received by the closing date and parking bays are available, the parking in P5 will be allocated as from 1 March.
  2.4.5 If the request is not received on time, general parking will be allocated in P11. The request will then only be considered after the allocation of parking and parking will be allocated if parking bays are available in P5
 
2.5 Holiday parking
Procedure: 2.5.1 Report to Academia on the day that the vehicle needs to be stored.
2.5.2 The official will complete the required forms with the student (a white form and a note placed in the vehicle window).
2.5.3 Complete the access book and write the "Book No" on the white form.
2.5.4 Place the note on the car windscreen.
2.5.5 Keep the white form in a safe place – this is the access card for collecting the vehicle.
NB: No vehicle may be parked at the offices of Campus Security for the holidays.
Tygerberg: Residence students who are registered for parking may arrange holiday parking during December and January with Tygerberg Transport Services. The allocation of such parking is subject to availability.
