Students and staff who live and work on the central campus, can walk to their destinations via safe pedestrian routes, or otherwise cycle there. The campus shuttle service will also be available along specific routes. The environment already lends itself to these transport modes since various traffic calming mechanisms are in place, e.g., raised pedestrian crossings. Heavy vehicles crossing the campus, excluding those doing deliveries at the University, will be discouraged.

Tygerberg

As part of the upgrading of the Tygerberg campus pedestrian routes are also upgraded. Students and staff can utilize these routes to move around between the parking areas, residences, and academic buildings.
